A whole bunch of us
Mayor thinking about policy
Some Chron writer, about Newsom’s political future, mentioned California Governer for Gavin, or maybe taking Dianne’s (two n’s) Senate seat later.
The article said the Senate might be more approp for gn because gn is a policy wonk.
You seem to disagree.
hi, willie, I read the Chron story, too. somehow in my demented mind, I’ve always thought of a policy wonk as someone who sits around and dreams up ideas the rest of us suffer from, like the Bush crowd of neo-cons. The Senate would be a good place for him to be just one of a bunch of policy wonks. He could make speeches and look “hot” and with J.S. by his side, they’d make a handsome couple inside the Beltway. The Senate would get him out of SF, but California could do better with someone who doesn’t carry this guy’s baggage. Inside the Beltway, the GOP will nail his ass to the barn door on his pecadolloes at every opportunity. Doesn’t matter if they’re all guilty of the same thing. He’ll be a pretty playboy from California who proves the state in general and SF specifically is filled with nuts. There must be someone floating around out there somewhere who could replace Feinstein. Any ideas?
What’s h. doing these days? I haven’t seen an updated post on his site lately, but I haven’t checked this morning. Regards, r.s.
r.s. please send me a private email, sfwillie@comcast.net, and I’ll tell you something about h.
When I asked a new tennis partner–40, gay, responsible career–about the upcoming mayor’s race, his only comment was about how handsome Gavin is.
I guess, if you figure all politicians are the same, why not pick a good looking one. Gn and js are truly a good looking couple.
I don’t think df’s or Arnie’s replacement matters. Our current system’s rush toward a breaking point seems irreversible.
fwiw, Gavin in more of a ceo than a collegial type, so he’d prob prefer governor, which is a better springboard to POTUS.
I’m listening to the senate debate on Mukasey the torturer and it’s too depressing. I appreciate your optimism.
